An URGENT Ask for Your Help to Stop Threats to Voting in Clackamas County
On October 24, a large group of individuals associated with United Sovereigns of America, an extreme-right-wing group that is behind lawsuits threatening voter rights across the US, attended the County Commissioners business meeting and demanded an end to “fraud” in our county’s elections.
Over and over, these people repeated falsehoods and debunked conspiracy theories about our election process. They called to an end to vote by mail, implementation of Voter ID laws, accused our County Clerk of malfeasance, and more. You can watch the proceedings of the meeting here.
Mark Shull and Tootie Smith, along with Ben West, encouraged and praised these radicals and stated their intent to consider a resolution from them at next week’s meeting.
We have to act to make sure Clackamas County is not taken over by a MAGA element that operates on conspiracy and lies and threatens our very freedom to vote.
Please, take as many of the following actions as you can.

Attend the Board of Commissioners meeting on Thursday, October 31 either in-person or online and voice your concerns. Sign up for the virtual meeting here or show up at the BCC Hearing Room, 2051 Kaen Road, Room 409, Oregon City, by 10 AM.
Support the campaigns of Melissa Fireside and Craig Roberts. Volunteer or contribute now. We need to remove Mark Shull and Tootie Smith from positions of power and prevent them from pandering to the demands of MAGA.
