Maybe Now is the Right Time- for You.
While we’re all talking about the November election, let’s not forget about an upcoming, very important election for Clackamas County: the May 18 Primary Election. That’s when we residents will vote to fill county-wide positions that have huge impacts on our neighborhoods, families, schools and local businesses.
You don’t need to be a professional politician to fill one of these important roles. You do need to care about the future of your community.
And if you are (in no particular order): a) A registered female Democrat, b) Thinking of running for public office for the first time and c) A resident of Clackamas County or running for an office that includes at least part of Clackamas County…
….We may have just what you need to convince you that your time has come to make a difference.
Maybe you’re ready to follow in the footsteps of Jill Thorn…
Every election the Democratic Party of Clackamas County (DPCC) awards the Jill Thorn Grant to a woman in Clackamas County who is a Democrat running for public office for the first time. Grant winners receive $500 that can be used for any campaign-related expenses. Past grantees say that boost can make a real difference to their campaign efforts.
This award commemorates the legacy of Oregonian Jill Thorn’s years of public service and the example her life provides to other women seeking to serve the community by serving in public office.
Are you ready to follow in Jill Thorn’s footsteps? Apply for the grant or nominate someone or contact us for more information about this grant and how we can help you win the election.
